What is the scheme?

Government-backed support for low-carbon heating

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides financial support towards the installation of low-carbon heating systems, encouraging the replacement of older, less efficient boilers with renewable technology such as air source heat pumps. The grant is applied directly to your installation cost, so there is nothing for you to claim back.

Benefits

Why homeowners are switching to heat pumps

  • Lower carbon emissions

Air source heat pumps use renewable energy from the outside air, significantly reducing your property's carbon footprint.

  • Highly efficient heating

Heat pumps produce several units of heat for every unit of electricity used, making them one of the most efficient systems available.

  • Less reliance on fossil fuels

Replace oil, LPG, direct electric heating or an older system with a modern renewable alternative.

  • Heating and hot water

A single system provides both space heating and domestic hot water throughout the year.
